Preface:
An acquaintance of mine obtained several antique photograph albums and a bible, as an investment for her to resell.  Prior to selling these, she offered this collection to me, temporarily, if I wanted to scan and save these photographs and documents for future generations.  I am not descended from, nor related to anyone, in this genealogy, so I was originally unfamiliar with the names.  It became quickly apparently that simply scanning these photographs would mean nothing unless persons could be identified to match up with the photographs, thereby necessitating the compiling of this family’s genealogy.

Much of the starting information that I used to compile this genealogy came from a collection of photograph albums, and a bible belonging to the Taylor family. Some non-Taylor names and dates came from a typewritten note found inside the Taylor Family Bible. The Trueland family vital statistics came from what looks like a single bible page that originally came from a different bible (but was placed inside the “Taylor” bible).  Some of the Taylor Family records were handwritten in the bible.

The Salem County Historical Society provided me with the booklet, “Capt. William Smith, etc.” which allowed me to identify even more family members, and therefore even more photographs. Other sources of information may be found in the foot notes of this document. About 1/3 of the photographs in these albums were labeled with names.  Of these photographs, there are only 3 or 4 that I could not positively identify.

Marks and notations: The notation “+” in front of a listing indicates that there is additional genealogical information found later in this document about that person. Hypertext links are included only when a photograph is available [all photographs are found at the end of this document].

The numbers preceding some of the individuals in red, i.e. the numbers shown as [#] match up with those given to individuals in the book “Captain William Smith 1742-1820 etc.” I have added additional genealogical information to most of the Captain William Smith generations through personal research.

A FLOWCHART is available to show the relationships of many of the individuals in this genealogy.

The photographs and information on this web site is copyrighted by the author, and may NOT be used, for any reason, without her EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMSSION. The original scans of these photographs are now owned by the Salem County Historical Society.
