The ancestors and descendents of Joseph B. Owen and Alexander P. Owen of East Greenwich Twp. (Mickleton) was compiled by Steve Pratt who may be contacted at swpratt@prodigy.net. Joseph Benjamin Owen
was born on August 16, 1838 in New Jersey. He appeared on the 1840 and 1850 census in Greenwich Twp., Gloucester County., New Jersey. He appeared on the 1860 census in Mantua Twp., Gloucester County. He and his wife Christiana appeared on the 1870 and 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. He died on March 9, 1907.

He was married to Christiana Dorothy Packer (daughter of John Packer and Isabella Morrison Hartley) on February 18, 1862 in Gloucester County. Christiana Dorothy Packer was born on October 15, 1838 in Gloucester County. She appeared on the 1840 and 1860 census in Greenwich Twp. She died on June 14, 1900 in Gloucester County. He was married to Alice Brown on December 6, 1905. Alice Brown was born on April 17, 1856. She died on April 1, 1939.

Joseph Benjamin Owen and Christiana Dorothy (Packer) Owen had the following children:
+1. Alexander Packer Owen (born on December 23, 1863).
+2. Emma Hartley Owen (born on December 9, 1865).
+3. Deborah Curtis Owen (born on January 23, 1868).
+4. Isabella Packer Owen (born on February 16, 1871).
+5. Bertha Warrington Owen (born on October 29, 1873).
+6. Christiana Packer Owen (born on July 21, 1875).
+7. Louella Rowan Owen (born on February 19, 1877).
+8. Joseph Benjamin Owen (born on August 8, 1881).


Alexander Packer Owen (son of Joseph Benjamin), a lifelong Quaker and farmer, was born on December 23, 1863 in Jefferson, New Jersey. He appeared on the 1870 and 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. He lived at 552 Still Run Rd. (1893-95) and 68 Cedar Rd. (1895-1915) in Mickleton, Gloucester Co. He and his wife Sarah appeared on the 1910 and 1920 census in East Greenwich Twp. He died on July 18, 1928 in Woodbury, Gloucester Co. He was buried after July 18, 1928 in Mullica Hill, Gloucester Co.

He was married to Sarah Elizabeth Pancoast (daughter of Benjamin G. Pancoast and Elizabeth Gaunt) on February 24, 1886 in Camden, Camden Co., New Jersey. Sarah Elizabeth Pancoast was born on December 9, 1859 in Jefferson, NJ. She appeared on the 1860 census in New Hanover, Burlington Co., New Jersey. She appeared on the 1870 census in Harrison Twp., Gloucester Co. She appeared on the 1880 census in Mullica Hill, Gloucester Co. She died on December 14, 1949.
Alexander Packer Owen and Sarah Elizabeth (Pancoast) Owen had the following children:

1. Florence Owen, born on March 28, 1888, now deceased. She was married on 8 Mar 1916 to Asher Kirkbride Haines, son of Amos G. & Anna Haines. Asher was born 16 Mar 1888 and died 7 Jun 1968; resided in East Greenwich and in Sewell, N.J.; had issue.

3. Herman Krause Owen, born on November 28, 1892. He was married to Mabel Folker on October 5, 1918 and had issue.
4. Sara Pancoast Owen, born on December 1, 1895, now deceased. She was married to George Willig Pool and had issue.
5. William Henry Owen was born on December 9, 1896. He died on July 31, 1897. He was buried in Mullica Hill, Gloucester Co., NJ.
6. Jessie Owen, born on September 26, 1898, now deceased. She was married to Joseph Russel Rowland and had issue.
7. Alexander Packer Owen, born on August 2, 1900, now deceased. He was married to Elizabeth Pancoast Buzby and had issue.

Emma Hartley Owen (dau of Joseph Benjamin) was born on December 9, 1865. She appeared on the 1870 and 1880 census in Greenwich Twp., Gloucester Co., NJ. She died on January 12, 1946. She was married to Edward Francis Reeves on December 9, 1891. Edward Francis Reeves was born on November 25, 1866. He died on August 19, 1933.

Deborah Curtis Owen (dau of Joseph Benjamin) was born on January 23, 1868 in Mickleton, Gloucester Co. She appeared on the 1870 and 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. She died on May 9, 1938. She was married to Gilbert Iredell Kirkbride (son of Thomas Bee Kirkbride and Anna Iredell) on February 25, 1891 in Mickleton, Gloucester Co. Gilbert Iredell Kirkbride was born on February 13, 1864 in Woodbury, Gloucester Co. He and his wife appeared on the 1910 and 1920 census in Deptford Twp., Gloucester Co. He died on May 12, 1942. Deborah Curtis (Owen) Kirkbride and Gilbert Iredell Kirkbride had the following children:
1. Emerson Kirkbride was born in 1891 in New Jersey. He appeared on the census in 1920 in Deptford Twp., Gloucester Co., NJ. He died in 1954.
2. Joseph Owen Kirkbride, born in 1897, married -- Briehl.

Isabella Packer Owen (dau of Joseph Benjamin) was born on February 16, 1871 in New Jersey. She appeared on the 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. She died on December 13, 1928. She was married to Howard W. Willetts on May 31, 1921. Howard W. Willetts was born in 1888.

Bertha Warrington Owen (dau of Joseph Benjamin) was born on October 29, 1873 in New Jersey. She appeared on the 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. She died on July 23, 1948. She was married to William E. Cooke on December 6, 1893. William E. Cooke was born on March 8, 1870. He died on November 20, 1944.

Christiana Packer Owen (dau of Joseph Benjamin) was born on July 21, 1875 in New Jersey. She appeared on the 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. She, her husband, and children appeared on the 1920 census in Collingswood, Camden Co., New Jersey. She died on August 29, 1929. She was married to Joseph Clement Williams (son of John Williams) on February 12, 1902. Joseph Clement Williams was born on April 21, 1878 in New Jersey. He and his children appeared on the 1930 census in Collingswood, Camden Co. He died after 1930.
Christiana Packer (Owen) Williams and Joseph Clement Williams had the following children:

1. Helen Williams was born in New Jersey
2. Evelyn P. Williams was born in New Jersey

Louella Rowan Owen (dau of Joseph Benjamin) was born on February 19, 1877 in New Jersey. She appeared on the 1880 census in Greenwich Twp. She died on April 6, 1965. She was married to Jonathan Hand (son of Jonathan Hand and Judith W. Wheaton) on August 12, 1914. Jonathan Hand was born on September 6, 1867 in New Jersey. He appeared on the 1880 census in Middle Township, Cape May Co., New Jersey. He and his wife appeared on the 1910 census in Wildwood, Cape May Co. He and his wife appeared on the 1930 census in North Wildwood, Cape May Co. He died on May 20, 1943. She was married to George Alvin Forbes on August 7, 1953. George Alvin Forbes was born on July 1, 1876. He died on March 6, 1954.

Joseph Benjamin Owen (son of Joseph Benjamin) was born on August 8, 1881 in New Jersey. He appeared on the 1920 census in Westville, Gloucester Co., New Jersey. Between 1923 and 1935, he lived at 509 Kings Highway in Mickleton, Gloucester Co. He and his wife appeared on the 1930 census in East Greenwich Twp. He died on August 3, 1953. He was married to Lydia Cooper Bradshaw (daughter of Elmer Bradshaw and Phebe Anna Cooper) on February 26, 1902. Lydia Cooper Bradshaw was born on November 13, 1878 in New Jersey. She appeared on the 1920 census in Westville, Gloucester Co. She died on October 19, 1943. He was married to Elizabeth Thompson Metzger on April 29, 1944. Elizabeth Thompson Metzger was born on March 19, 1893.
Joseph Benjamin Owen and Lydia Cooper (Bradshaw) Owen had the following children:

1. Alberta Owen, b. in N.J.; She was married to Raymond Douglas Morgan, had issue.
2. Elmer Bradshaw Owen, b. in N.J., married, now deceased.
3. Joseph Benjamin Owen, b. in N.J., married.
